Asheville, North Carolina is a happening place with a vibrant culture and appreciate of arts. It’s no surprise that the Labor Day weekend event line-up will not disappoint. The big events for the weekend are two festivals in the area: Lexington Avenue Arts and Fun Festival in downtown Asheville and the North Carolina Apple Festival in nearby Hendersonville.
There are a few other notable festivals and markets going on. The Ooh La La Curiosity Market and the Spruce Street Market are both happening in downtown Asheville. Let’s not forget the Asheville music scene. The Wee Bit Louder Festival at Highland Brewing Company features regional rock and blues bands along with Highland brews. There’s also the Shindig on the Green, a local bluegrass live jam session on Saturday evening.
For those that live an active lifestyle and want to get some exercise in to balance the festivities, there is the Asheville Running Experience Weekend. Whether you are a serious runner or just want to experience our city, you’re welcome to participate in these events. The Running Experience is a 3-day event with 4 races and 2 events, including the Asheville Brewing Superhero 5k race.
