Driving around in Asheville, North Carolina doesn’t always serve a “to get from one place to another” kind of purpose. Sometimes you just hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway for no other reason than to take the scenic route and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Western North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Cyclists, motorists, and bikers all share the road and dramatic views on what’s known as “America’s Favorite Drive.” Not only does the Blue Ridge Parkway wind its way through miles of Asheville and North Carolina, it connects with historic sites, hiking, and biking trails. The Folk Art Center and Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center are both stops along the way that are located right here in Asheville. Of course, there are plenty of overlooks and parking spots for picture taking or simply reflecting on the wonders of nature.
With leaf peeping season here, it is the perfect time to plan a trip along the Parkway. Fortunately for our community’s homeowners, the fall foliage in our area is very colorful and long lasting. Asheville boasts some of the best autumn color shows in the country. With an elevation of nearly 3,000 feet at Ventana, our homeowners can enjoy leaf season from the comfort of their home. No driving necessary!
